2 - ESG Leadership in Insurance – Navigating Uncertainty to meet the climate goals

11:00 - 12:30

In an era of evolving sustainability demands and regulatory change, ESG managers in insurance companies are key to connecting group-level commitments with local implementation. This session will explore how they can take a more strategic role—navigating internal priorities, fostering cross-departmental collaboration, and communicating the long-term business value of sustainability. With expert speakers from across the insurance sector, we will discuss practical strategies for moving beyond compliance, embedding ESG into operations and underwriting, and strengthening the local relevance of global sustainability goals.

3 - Climate Risks and Financial Stability: Advancing the Macroprudential Framework

13:30 - 15:00

As climate change increasingly affects economic and financial systems, integrating climate risks into financial stability analysis has become an important task for central banks across the EU. This interactive session explores the crucial role of macroprudential analysis in safeguarding financial resilience in the transition. It will delve into how climate shocks interact with macro-financial conditions and other structural risks, such as geopolitical tensions and technological change.

These interactions can lead to unpredictable and novel impacts – and associated financial losses. A key challenge ahead is developing advanced analytical toolkits that can capture the complex and long-term nature of climate-related financial risks. From stress testing methodologies to scenario analysis and transition plans, central banks and policymakers across the EU are refining their approaches to better anticipate systemic vulnerabilities.
