Czech Energiesprong – from inspiration to production

Organiser:
INCIEN – Institute of Circular Economy

Venue:
Kampus Hybernská

Context:
The Czech Republic faces a dual challenge:
1. An ageing housing stock with high operating costs and low energy efficiency.
2. A shortage of skilled workers in the construction sector, which slows down the pace of renovation. International practice in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom and Italy shows that industrialised renovations using prefabricated panels can overcome these barriers: installation takes days rather than weeks; quality is higher thanks to production in a controlled environment; and prefabrication reduces the need for on-site craftsmen, helping to address labour shortages.

Event description:
A workshop on this topic with a guest from the Netherlands. It will explain the main concept of this approach, present practical examples, outline the potential for the Czech context, and showcase good practice.
The lecture will be held under the auspices of INCIEN.
After the workshop, feedback will be collected from participants to explore their views on the topic, practical experience, perceived benefits and barriers, and other relevant insights. INCIEN would then like to use these findings as a basis for further discussion at the institutional level.
