O akci:
How do we stay present, connected and capable of action in a world of climate disruption, uncertainty and profound change?
Inspired by Joanna Macy’s work on Active Hope and The Work That Reconnects, this participatory Inner Development Goals session invites us to explore that question not only intellectually, but through experience.
Active Hope does not require us to believe that everything will turn out well. It begins with acknowledging that the future is uncertain and asking how we choose to participate in shaping it.
Together, we will move through four interconnected movements:
Coming from Gratitude — reconnecting with what we value and love enough to care for.
Honouring Our Pain — making space for grief, anxiety and loss without immediately trying to fix or escape them.
Seeing with New Eyes — exploring the wellbeing of future generations, futures literacy and new ways of understanding a world in transition.
Going Forth — considering what becomes possible when inner capacity, imagination, relationship and action come together.
Along the way, we will move between reflection, conversation, experiential practice and provocation all while connecting the inner dimensions of change with the very real challenges facing our society and planet.
The afternoon will include contributions on wellbeing for future generations and futures literacy from Petr Fridrich, an experiential Grief Walk drawing on The Work That Reconnects from Michaela Skalnikova, and The Jazz of the Apocalypse, an exploration of how humour, imagination, attention and relationship might help us navigate a world coming undone from František Drahota.
The session will be opened and closed by Nina Bressler and Nikol Cvrčková, holding the wider Active Hope journey and its connection to the Inner Development Goals.
Come not for easy answers, but for a different way of meeting the questions. Together we’ll get rooted in what we love, open to what is difficult, get curious about what is emerging, and get ready to go forth, together.
